Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body functioning under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. Since its inception in 1965, the Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) have come to be known as centres of excellence in the field of school education promoting national integration and a sense of INDIANNESS among the children while ensuring their total personality development and academic excellence.
The Regional Office of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is located in Silchar, Silchar, South Assam. The Regional Office manages 31 Central Schools located in Silchar Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram. Out of these, 02 KVs are project sectors, 5 are IHLs, 18 Civil Sector and 06 Defense Sector.
Regional Office is headed by Deputy Commissioner and assisted by Assistant Commissioner, Administrative Officer, Finance Officer and several other officers.
Regional office was established in 1984. The office is currently located in Capt NM Gupta Sarani, (near Lions Club), Silchar-788001, District (Cachar).
